What We Do With Your Resume

Whether you are actively seeking employment or keeping your career options open, there are benefits with having a connection with those who can help you make the right connections and guide you in your Job Seeking experience. Placing your resume with those right connections can make the difference in your Job Search efforts.

Some folks wonder if it’s worth the effort to submit your resume to online Job Boards and other similar job search sites. The answer is Yes & No. It all really depends on the place you are submitting your resume too. When one submits a resume online, obviously you want something to happen with that resume, preferably that it be seen by prospective employers and you get a job. Many of the big online job sites make your resume visible to employers and even recruiters who have registered with them. This isn’t necessarily bad and has its benefits but the downside of this that it’s not uncommon for a job seeker to find that they are inundated with calls from recruiters trying to get them to sign up with them. The expression “once it’s on the web, it never goes away” is something to keep in mind. Don’t get me wrong here. There are procedures in place by most job boards to mitigate this issue but nothing is perfect and unwanted things do happen at times.

What a job seeker needs is to find the right job which means placing their resume with places that don’t create more issues for them. Places that hold their information in confidence and do their best to make sure it doesn’t create additional problems for the job seeker. The best scenario is where your resume is available to prospective employers upon request. This allows whoever is holding that copy of your resume to do a little screening and make sure the employer requesting a copy of your resume is really who they say they are and there is some reasonable probability that there is a real job – job candidate match there. If you have had reservations about submitting your resume, let me assure you that’s the way the SPFM Job Bank operates.

When we receive your resume, we review it, endeavor to match up your qualifications and skill sets with those posted job opening job requirements that appear to fit. We then notify you of that potential match and let you take it from there. We are a connecting conduit – not a recruitment or staffing agency. If there are no job openings that appear to fit at the moment, we hold on to your resume and continue to try and match you up with an employer until you find the right new job position. It’s as simple as that. We’ll work with that Job Candidate until they either find a new job or they tell us otherwise.

When we review your resume, we may make some suggestions that might improve it, we will let you know. Some resume types and formats work better at grabbing prospective employer’s attention than others depending upon the type of job your looking for. Like everything else we do – there is no charge for this. Again, connecting you and the right new employer is the goal – making money isn’t.

We encourage Job Seekers to get a copy of their resume to us so we can help them find that new job.
